I’m a writer and photographer based in Davis, West Virginia, where I view the world through the lens of adventure. I developed an appreciation of the natural world and a passion for conservation at an early age while exploring the lush forests and rugged topography of Appalachia.
I am the founder of DJones Media, LLC and publisher of Highland Outdoors, an independent, grass-roots print and digital publication covering outdoor adventure in West Virginia.
My career has included professional writing, project consultation, and document design for organizations to online and print content for outdoor adventure, science communication, and news media outlets.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in public administration, both from West Virginia University.
